Covid-19 Message

UpdatedSunday November 15, 2020 byLeo Sheridan.

Dear SLGS Families,

We hope this message finds you and your family safe and well. The current Covid-19 health crisis continues to affect every aspect of our daily lives. Back in early Spring, we had hoped that putting the season on hold would be temporary as Covid-19 began to spread. By mid-summer it became evident that this pandemic was more widespread than anyone could have imagined. Our number one priority was the health and safety of our families. While we held out hope that we could salvage the season, conditions simply would not allow that. Covid-19 appears to be on the rise again, but we may have light at the end of the tunnel as vaccines show promising hope in our near future.

Traditionally, we open our registration for our Spring Recreational season October 1st, however due to the pandemic that has been delayed. We are making plans for the Spring to allow girls the opportunity to get out and play. As always safety will be our top priority. Currently we are discussing a “Conditioning & Training” model where girls can participate in socially distant conditioning and softball drills adhering to the strictest safety guidelines recommended by the County Health Director. We hope to do this in early March 2021.

We will be asking that families that are interested in a 2021 season to register your child on our website. Your child will be placed on a “Waitlist” to indicate interest and will be invited to participate in conditioning and drills. We will NOT be collecting payment until is clear that it will be safe to proceed with our season.

We hope that conditions will improve to allow us to hold a regular season safely. It is likely that the season may be delayed and possibly moved into the summer. Again, we want to emphasize that we will NOT commit to a season unless it is safe.

So if you are interested in playing next season, please register at to be placed on the waitlist and to receive updated communications as information becomes available. Please stay safe and enjoy your holiday season.
